The final song on my Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack goes along with 1984. The song is "Breaking the Habit" by Linkin Park and can be seen from Winston's point of view about finally having the guts to rebel. It mentions confusion and not knowing what's worth fighting for anymore. The "habit" being broke in the song can relate to Winston not needing to follow the government's rules anymore.
Lyrics:
Memories consume
Like opening the wound
I'm picking me apart again
You all assume
I'm safe here in my room
Unless I try to start again
[Bridge:]
I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
[Chorus:]
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream.
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean.
I don't know how I got this way
I know it's not alright.
So I'm breaking the habit,
I'm breaking the habit
Tonight
Clutching my cure
I tightly lock the door
I try to catch my breath again
I hurt much more
Than anytime before
I had no options left again
[Bridge]
[Chorus]
I'll paint it on the walls
'Cause I'm the one that falls
I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends
[Chorus:]
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
to show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this way
I'll never be alright
So, I'm breaking the habit
I'm breaking the habit
I’m breaking the habit

Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack Song 4
Song 4 of my soundtrack is the song "Push" by Matchbox Twenty. If you view the "she" in the song as the animals in Animal Farm, this song fits perfectly with Napoleon's leadership. It's almost like Napoleon is singing the song himself. It takes about taking the animals for granted and pushing them around. While the animals didn't see this, us readers did. It also asks why "Napoleon" would lie and be so untrusting even though he was one of them.
Lyrics:
She said I don't know if I've ever been good enough
I'm a little bit rusty, and I think my head is caving in
And I don't know if I've ever been really loved
By a hand that's touched me, well I feel like something's
Gonna give
And I'm a little bit angry, well
This ain't over, no not here, not while I still need you
Around
You don't owe me, we might change
Yeah we just might feel good
[chorus]
I wanna push you around, well I will, I will
I wanna push you down, well I will, I will
I wanna take you for granted, I wanna take you for granted
Well I will
She said I don't know why you ever would lie to me
Like I'm a little untrusting when I think that the truth is
Gonna hurt ya
And I don't know why you couldn't just stay with me
You couldn't stand to be near me
When my face don't seem to want to shine
Cuz it's a little bit dirty well
Don't just stand there, say nice things to me
I've been cheated I've been wronged, and you
You don't know me, I can't change
I won't do anything at all
[chorus]
Oh but don't bowl me over
Just wait a minute well it kinda fell apart, things get so
Crazy, crazy
Don't rush this baby, don't rush this baby
[chorus]

Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack Song 3
The third song on my Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack is "At It Again" by Pat McGee. Although a little more upbeat, I found it to go along well with Animal Farm, and more importantly, Snowball's feelings about being betrayed. The song talks about taking everything and turning things around. One of my favorite lyrics is "You've taken it all, I've taken the fall for your life. But not for long, who's right when everyone's wrong"
Lyrics:
You take me away from my life
and there's no one there to blame but myself
You've taken my eyes
robbing me blind of my tears
and that's just fine
and never say the words
say the words
don't say them
Yeah, yeah
you know you're tearing me up
you're holding me down
you're at it again
Yeah, yeah
you know you're leaving me out
without any doubt
you'll do it again
again and again
You've taken it all
I've taken the fall for your life
But not for long
Who's right when everyone's wrong
I'll take on the pain
For awhile
Once in your life
Just show a smile
And end this fight tonight
Yeah, yeah
You know you're tearing me up
You're holding me down
You're at it again
Yeah, yeah
You know you're leaving me out
Without any doubt
You know in
Loneliness i hide
But i can't forever
Take a look inside
If you don't remember
If you don't remember
Say the words
Say the words
Don't say them
Yeah, yeah
You know you're tearing me up
You're holding me down
You're at it again
Yeah, yeah
You know you're tearing me up
You're holding me down
You'd do it again
Yeah, yeah
You know you're tearing me up
You're holding me down, oh
You're knocking me down
Draggin' me 'round
All over again
Yeah yeah
You're at it again

Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack Song 2
The second song on my soundtrack is "Asylum" by Disturbed. Once again, this fits the theme of 1984 with the government seeing and controlling everything. It also has to do with Winston's love for Julia. I like this song because it goes along really well with the fact that Winston was punished because of disobeying the government. (I know I'll never know a peaceful night again, Afraid they'll hear me, They don't fear me. Punishment for the immoral crime, That debt was never paid completely)
Lyrics:
Release me
No remnants were ever found of it
Feeling the hot bile
With every fake smile
Though no evidence was ever found
It never went away completely
I try to hide from the unholy sound of it
Another day gone
Another night's dawn
Dark forces pull me underground
And never went away completely
How can I feel this empty?
I will not recover this time
This loneliness is killing me
Will I never know peace of mind again?
I don't believe it
I can't achieve it
I think it all is just another sign
It never went away completely
Terror is coursing in me
Dreading the final moments
Where I have to be
And feel you die
In Asylum (I live a lie)
Don't you know I'm in love with you
And I wasn't ready
For Asylum (Relive a lie)
To let go
Now it's dragging me into your grave
Your Asylum (Forget the lie)
Overcome and the feeling that I won't get to join you in time
For the loneliness is killing me
Death's images are all around again
They're right behind me
They're gonna find me
Judgment for the immoral sin
That has enveloped me completely
I know I'll never know a peaceful night again
Afraid they'll hear me
They don't fear me
Punishment for the immoral crime
That debt was never paid completely
Terror is coursing in me
Dreading the final moments
Where I have to be
And feel you die
In Asylum (I live a lie)
Don't you know I'm in love with you
And I wasn't ready

To let go
Now it's dragging me into your grave
Your Asylum (Forget the lie)
Overcome and the feeling that I won't get to join you in time
For the loneliness is killing me
In the end there will be no suffering (more suffering)
In the end we will find out everything (not everything)
In the end you may question your belief (what belief)
In the end you will realize someday
How you were saved
This has gone on too long (too long)
No more demonic Dreams
Destroyer come to light
Because the memory is killing me
In Asylum (I live a lie)
I let go
now it's dragging me into your grave
For Asylum (We live a lie)
Overcome and the feeling that I won't get to join you in time
This world is not fulfilling me
Don't make me live in Asylum
I live alive
Don't want to live in Asylum
I live a lie
Don't make me live in Asylum
I am a lie

Animal Farm/1984 Soundtrack Song 1
The first song on my George Orwell soundtrack is the song "Land of Confusion" by Disturbed. The lyrics fit the theme of 1984 in the fact that it talks about fighting and rebelling. Society tells them one thing, while the citizens see another. (They say the dangers gone away, But I can see the fire's still alight). It also fits 1984's theme of wanting to stand up for their world. It's not about following orders anymore, it's about doing what's will make things better. (This is the world we live in, And these are the hands we're given. Use them and let's start trying, To make it a place worth living in)
Lyrics:
I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street
Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
They're burning into the night
There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in
Oh, superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour
This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is a land of confusion
This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in
I remember long ago
When the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright all through the night
In the wake of this madness, as I held you tight
So long ago
I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know we'll never keep
There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?
Now, this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for
This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to
